TALKING POINT

The return-to-office tug of war!

tugging worker

A couple of years ago, remote working was at its peak. Sadly for many employees, the number of remote positions available is currently on the decline.

According to a report by video conferencing company Owl Labs, 66 % of employees are in the office 5 days a week, up from last year’s 41 %. (You know things are bad when even Zoom, who largely facilitated WFH over the last few years with its platform, is calling its employees back to the office!) ⏬

Though some employees love remote work and others hate it, one thing applies to everyone: being at the office is a lot more expensive than it was before the pandemic.

The report showed that, on average, full-time employees spend $ 1k a month just to be at the office — that’s what food, coffee, commuting and parking add up to. Hybrid employees, meanwhile, spend less than half of that. 💸

Shouldn’t more employers start taking that into consideration when reversing their WFH policies? Reply to share your thoughts.

Batch your tasks 👍 Essentially, this means grouping similar tasks together and doing them at once. This eliminates those couple of minutes it takes for getting into the “zone” when you’re switching between entirely different tasks. More work efficiency tips

TODAY’S ADVICE

How to manifest your dream job 🔮

Manifesting your dream job may sound ridiculous to some, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

If you’re a TikTok user, you’ll have seen at least one video about manifestation, but it’s not simply writing down your dream job. Instead, it’s actually a self-help strategy intended to bring about a personal goal, primarily by focusing one’s thoughts upon the desired outcome.

🤔 So, how do you put this into practice?

  1. Be clear about the job that you want.

  2. Hone in on your vision by being as detailed as possible.

  3. Don’t self-doubt or be negative about yourself.

  4. Take inspired action to manifest your dream job.

  5. Don’t try to control the outcome.
