THE BIG IDEA

Welcome to the Adidas campus!

Adidas campus

In 2019, the Adidas World of Sports campus in Germany got its latest addition: the Arena. Completed by Behnisch Architekten, the office and reception building (that could easily be mistaken for a soccer stadium!) welcomes around 2,000 employees daily. ⚽

“The idea is that there should be nothing to remind you of a traditional building,” said Stefan Rappold, partner at Behnisch Architekten, in an interview with Dezeen. And indeed, everything about the design challenges the conventional — from the irregularly arranged steel supports that hold the office space above the ground to the “floating” staircase that greets you once you enter.

The 52,000m² space includes a restaurant, formal and informal meeting rooms, and a seemingly endless atrium that’s ideal for hosting events. It’s also close to the Adidas Gym that includes exercise machines, group fitness rooms, a basketball court and a soccer pitch among other facilities. 🏋️

TODAY’S ADVICE

The skills that will land you a job — faster ⚡

Employers don’t just want to know that you’re interested in working for them or that you have an impressive résumé. They also want to know that your skill set will make a successful contribution to their company’s goals.

Specifically, they look for:

  1. Open-mindedness — especially since their company will be doing things differently from your previous employer.

  2. Teamwork — it does make the dream work!

  3. Communication — including speaking, writing and negotiating.

  4. Self-management — most managers want to trust their teams to be able to do their jobs without supervision.

  5. Computer skills — including programming languages and industry software.
